Connect Church Prayer Gram

June 10, 2018

“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions,

and thanksgivings be made for all people,” 1Timothy 2:1

Thanksgiving: “Hear this, O Job; stop and consider the wondrous works of God.

Do you know how God lays his command upon them and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?

Do you know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works

of him who is perfect in knowledge,” Job 37:14-16

Connect Church:

Pray that Connect Church would grow in being distinct from the

world in love and holiness, even as it engages the world.

Pray for those in authority over us:

Our City: St. Michael City Council Matt Kammann

Our State: MN Senate Mary Kiffmeyer

Our Nation: Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor

Partners in Spain-Prayer Requests for June 2018:

Envision site coordinators Larry and Krista Lain are gearing up to receive several summer teams in the El Palo neighborhood of Málaga. Pray for them and the logistics for lodging and outreaches there, as well as looking into finding a fixed location for a ministry center for Envision. Also, that the teams that come will encounter God through serving marginalized people and experiencing the global church.

Canadian colleague Pablo Papávero praises God for finishing his master´s thesis last week. Just in time for his and Silvina´s eldest daughter´s high school graduation and to pack up their house as they leave on a year´s home assignment. Pray for their final words of testimony to neighbors, friends--and the thesis proofreader!

Steve & Claudia Irvin have returned exhausted but rejoicing from ten days of teaching and pastoral care in the Canary Islands. While Steve taught theology to four pastors nightly on Gran Canaria, Claudia was able to share significant time with the host pastor´s wife and fellowship with three others. All of their husbands are bivocational and so life is not easy. The final weekend on La Palma, several in the congregation responded to the invitation to receive Christ´s cleansing, including one entire family!

Panta ta Ethne (Matthew 28:19 “all nations”):

North America and Caribbean

Persecuted Church:

Ethiopia:   Pray for greater freedom for the Church in Ethiopia, and for God to reveal

His truth to Ethiopian government officials.

Sadly, many divisions between denominations exist. Pray for unity between believers.

Christians are often denied resources and discriminated

against when looking for work. Pray the Lord would provide for persecuted believers.

Tunisia:  Pray for persecuted Christian youth, especially those who face pressure

from non-believing family members when they want to marry.

Pray persecuted people will feel God’s presence. Many lose hope and

don’t know how to move forward with their lives.

Pray the Lord will hinder the plans of Islamic extremists and draw them to Jesus.
