C&MA Missions

Spain partnership

Connect Church has partnered with the C&MA Spain mission field for the next five years.  This partnership consists of us praying for them, giving financially to them through the C&MA great commission fund and going to the field to serve. The missionaries in Spain in turn have committed to pray for us and to help us raise the bar of missions at Connect.  We have gone twice to the Spain field (2015 and 2016) and plan to go again in 2018.

Here is some information about Spain:  Behind the facade of Spain’s imposing cathedrals and vibrant culture lurks a dark spiritual void—less than 1 percent of its population is evangelical. In response to the need, the first C&MA workers entered Spain in 1978, beginning in Barcelona. For many years, the work was difficult and response minimal. As late as 1999, the ministry in Spain consisted of just three small churches.

In 2000, the tide turned remarkably, and quite suddenly, with the arrival of thousands of Latin American immigrants. God began opening new doors to share the gospel and plant churches among these new residents. Despite crippling financial hardships and unemployment in the country today, the Spanish and immigrant congregations in Spain have experienced growth.

Today, the Evangelical Christian and Missionary Alliance of Spain consists of 7 organized churches, 7 unorganized groups, and 1,530 inclusive members.

Spain bethany house

Dear partners with Spain,

Greetings from Madrid!

I am sending out this video to the churches and pastors who are partnering with us here in Spain.  Thanks again for your interest in and your prayers and support for the Bethany School of Missions and Discipleship here in Spain.  Specifically, I am writing to share some updated video resources which I just received today.

Down below is a link to a new, good quality video on Bethany that some Canadian professional videographers helped pull together.  It has some good video clips from this year’s 2017 Bethany School and overall is a good summary of what the Lord is doing there in Alicante. The 2017 Bethany School actually included two schools: one in English with 21 students and a second in Spanish with 38 students.  God worked in marvelous, transforming ways in the lives of these young people!

I will send you a separate email with a link to a second video on the Refuge, prepared by the same videographers.  While perhaps not as strategic or captivating as the Bethany House video, I thought you still would like to have a copy, which describes the second property and how we hope to use it.  Both were miraculously donated to the National Church just over two years ago.

We are still trusting God for a miracle to buy the vacant lot next door to Bethany House, and a bigger miracle to construct a new and larger building to expand our facilities there in Alicante.

Grateful for your partnership in the Gospel,

Raymond
